Tommy Tarlton Back in Top Five at Ocean Speedway

PETERSEN MEDIA- With the Ocean Sprints at Taco Bravo resuming their schedule on Friday night after an extended break, Tommy Tarlton made the trip up from Fresno, CA where he would win the Dash and finish fourth in the feature event.

“It is always great to get out of the office and into a racecar when we are able to,” Tommy Tarlton said. “Paul Baines and the guys do a great job of preparing all these racecars for all of us drivers to have some fun, and all these cars are fast night in and night out.”

The Easton, CA driver opened Friday night up by timing the Elite Landscape Construction/Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino/Tarlton and Son, Inc. backed No. 21 machine in second fastest in qualifying time trials.

Gridding the field from the fourth starting position in his heat race, Tarlton would pick up a position on the racy ¼ mile where his third place finish would earn him a spot in the nightly Dash which set he first three rows of the feature event line up.

Lining up alongside Koen Shaw in the Dash, Tarlton would flex his muscle aboard the Paul Baines prepared machine and picked up the win and earned the right to line up on the pole for the 30-lap affair.

On a very racy surface, Tarlton would find himself battling with the likes of DJ Netto, Justin Sanders, and Ryan Bernal over the course of the feature event. Losing the drag race to Shaw in the early stages, Tarlton would spend his night fighting for track position inside the Top-Five.

When the 30-lap tilt came to a close, Tarlton would take the checkered flag with fourth place finish.

Saturday night would see Tarlton also in action at the Keller Auto Speedway where he would take on the Sprint Car Challenge Tour at a track that has seen him have so much success over the years.

Qualifying in groups, Tarlton would time in fifth quickest in group four which would see him just narrowly miss the heat race inversion. Lining up in the third row of the fourth heat race, Tarlton would securely make his way directly into the 30-lap feature event as he finished in the fourth position.

Gridding the field from the 18th starting position, Tarlton was never really able to get going forward. With the track tough to pass on at times, Tarlton would spend much of the night trying to race his way into the Top-15 as he closed his night out in the 18th position.

“It was a really fun weekend,” Tarlton added. “Saturday night was a struggle at times, but that is part of this night. Thanks to all of our partners for their support and again thanks to my guys for all of their hard work.”

Tarlton Motorsports would like to thank Elite Landscape Construction, Tarlton and Son, Inc., Executive Auto Sales, Tachi Palace Hotel and Casino, Yokut Gas, Pabco Gypsum, Bandy and Associates, All Star Performance, and BG Lubricants for their support through the 2018 season.

2018 BY THE NUMBERS: Races-7, Wins-0, Top 5’s-2, Top 10’s-4
